Who the hell is Brewster Kahle?

I want you to listen to something, but you got to read all the way through to get to it.

We all know that a huge barrier to widespread videoblogging is the problem of storage and bandwidth.
For the bucks you pay each month for your blog, you get only a limited amount of storage for video.
And video is big.
Plus, if a bunch of people watch your videos...you'll run out of your alloted bandwdith for the month and may even get charged extra.
if you have a free blog...they just don't give you much of anything to even worry about it.

But why can't I have a videoblog for the rest of my life?
A place that will store all the videos I make, all the things I write from now till Im dead.
Though impossible now, wouldnt that be amazing?
Well, someone with money also thinks so.

Ive spoken about Open-Media.org before HERE...now to be called Ourmedia.org.
Marc Canter, one of the planners, explains the concept HERE very well.
The concept is this: anyone who makes video/photos/songs can store their stuff for FREE on their servers FOREVER.
Why?
Because they believe that what we make is important to history or something.

Too good to be true?
Well, it's all part of the Internet Archive set up by Brewster Kahle.
He's a collector.

But Ive done a lot of research and I now believe.
Listen to this story HERE...taken from a book by Lawrence Lessig called Free Culture.
It's only 6-7 minutes, but worth your time.

http://ourmedia.org is in the works.
It will take some time to build the whole interface for uploading and downloading.
But give it six months.
And listen to what's going on in the mean time.
I thank Brewster Kahle for being a good guy in these weird times, and helping us to build.

You are welcome. and thank you for the nice blog entry.

You can currently upload movies and audio in the open-source-audio and open-source-movies sections of the archive.org site.

Also, there are 8000 movies, 200,000 songs. all free to watch. and many free to reuse to make new things.

Somebody needs to STOP that MANIC-NUT Brewster Kahle before he destroys everyone's copyrights and intellectual property rights.

Just because *Kahle* thinks he's a genuis (and apparently so do some persons around these parts), does not give him or anyone else the right to rip off the rest of us!

If I ever find any of my personally owned copyrighted materials UNLAWFULLY ARCHIVED AND SHARED by Kahle's archiving schemes, I will be sure to SUE the hell out of him. I recommend that all artists, writers, and others interested in protecting their intellectual properties keep a close eye on Kahle and his sneaky projects and SUE the hell out of him, if and when he abuses your copyrights and property rights.

And what REALLY sucks is the way Kahle and his ilk are getting GRANTS in order to rip off independent artists, writers, researchers, and others whose intellectual properties are their life support!!!

The whole thing sucks, and Kahle is a raving MANIC LUNATIC... I wonder how he sounds & looks in his bipolar DOWN phase?!

P.S. ONLY an a**hole who's been GIVEN EVERYTHING ALL HIS LIFE would have an attitude like this, toward creative artists whose livelihood depends on their copyrighted material:

"... his response to people who object on the basis of copyright violation, which is basically, "Dear Sir/Madam: My deepest apologies for infringing your copyright. I will now remove your work from the historical record. Enjoy oblivion."

Only a MEGALOMANIAC manic-depressive nitwit would even PRESUME to rip away the whole world's rights to its own INDIVIDUAL creative products and intellectual properties...

Jerk!

Somebody needs to stop this Spoilt Brat!

P.P.S. I hope all those injured by this Idiot's presumptuousness in "archiving" (a/k/a/ STEALING) individual creative works will SUE the b*s*ard as well as demand removal from his arrogant archiving scheme! And WHY is all this crap being housed on the PRESIDIO--isn't that GOVT. property?! WHO is paying for this worldwide ripoff?
