The Story of bandwidth: "Awesome...no, oh shit.."
I posted a video last night.
I check my referrer log this afternoon and BOOM.
i got about 200 people watching the video.
So i run to check the status of my blog traffic:
hahahha I literally used up 1GB last night.
Typepad only gives me 3GB a month...but still doesnt worry about us going over.
So far.
Jesus.
This is great that more people are watching.
the word is getting out that people are posting video.
But can we handle the traffic?
How is your stuff doing?
I have server space at the university, and they don't care as long as it's somewhat related to my studies. :o)

Shit 200 people. Imagine if you get 2000. Or if you get slashdotted and you get 200.000.

Zack from CivicSpace pointed me to this site.
I'm the lead developer for Blog Torrent. It's a tool designed to solve this exact problem. It lets you easily post files to your web site using the BitTorrent protocol. Right now, it's a standalone PHP program. Although, we're considering CivicSpace/Drupal integration in the future.
