VIDEO: To all my peeps
Im just laughing lately reading the threads at the videoblogging group.
Truly an amazing community forming.
Everyone has been thinking of video on the net...they hear the call...they come over.
But conversing through email is different than through video.
So here's a text blog post...in video.

Tech talk.
Now that more people are posting videos.....
I got to say that Im really unhappy with how my videos are looking.
really pixelated and bad sound.
I just compress it through iMovie.
Though I edit with FCP at work, I love iMovie because its so easy. drag drop post.
Some of the videos Ive been seeing are extremely crystal clear.
We need a "best practices" when it come to compresses video.
Thanks for that Jay.
Check this out, it reminded me of your 'freaked out / bored in the forest' video:

(Personally, I love nature and tribal chanting, drumming, tapping, communing, et cetera with or without technology)

Oh, HUSH, Jay!
you make me out like such a tyrant! i love when you talk like that (and I love that Ryanne was inspired to do the same). Its what YOU do. Not many people can feel comfortable enough to be relaxed and funny without being annoysome in that kind of hotseat. It's kinda funny though because it brings up all the issues that i am obsessed with in my videoblogging. more on that later

haha Mica.
we got to learn to be comfortable.
for me, this is what its all about.
learning to be comfortable with each other and still be ourselves..without being self-absorbed.
its a big order.big order.

aye-aye, to that sir.
need to be comfortable on camera
because we will soon all be stars in the movies of our own lives which, if we don't make for ourselves, someone will make for us.
and still you insist in communicating with me exclusively through the computer. relax.
maybe your the big order is too much to ask of people. they are tentative, the neeed to remember how to play. they need karaoke.

Nice man, you are the voice of reason and progress on the vid blog list. Yeah, I can't wait for the day when everybody has the camera and is posting like it was nothing. A totally decentralized, even democratic media. MMMmmmmm.
Anyway, everybody listen to Jay, keep creating video, audio, podcasts, text blogs, and whatever - and post often, innovate, help your friends, share, watch other posts, and be nice!

*LOVE* this video! Perfect. Especially your going-bald-sign-off bit :-D Too funny.
I find, however (and maybe because I'm impatient?) that your videos are loading in the player for me... so I'm having to save them on my computer and then play them in QT (?) Weird... and kind of frustrating. :-(
Which brings me back to playerless flash video. The more videos that become available, the less patience people are going to have with them opening up and starting. Insta-view! That's just the way it is.. Sigh.

Correction on my previous post! (brother)...
"I find, however (and maybe because I'm impatient?) that your videos are *** loading in the player for me... so I'm having to save them on my computer and then play them in QT (?) Weird... and kind of frustrating. :-("
I meant to say your videos are NOT loading, etc..
(I must learn to preview.. I must learn to preview.. I *must* learn to PREVIEW!) ;-D

I could watch you talk all day man. To test that, you should do a marathon 24-hour vlog.
Wait, what? No, don't do that. Extreme vlogging, I'm not ready for that. But definitely keep rockin in the free world.
Also, I like swearing.

Also did you see this?
Interview with Caterina Fake from Flickr:
Do you plan to support video in the future? We would like to support short-form video -- like the kind of video you can take with your digital camera.
