Anthology Videoblog show #1
This is the first screening we did at the Anthology Film Archive in NYC.
It was curated by Ryanne Hodson and Michale Verdi on 10.5.05.
Its pretty amazing to see videoblogs on the big screen.
if you want to curate one of of biweekly screenings...email me.
hey, great that you're doing these screenings.. but oh man.. this is sooooo big! i thought my fireant was hanging! couldn;t you just link to all the original video sites?

I really liked this. I liked to not have to go to lots of different sites to see the videos, but maybe that's my 10/10 line talking :)
I would suggest links to the original posts in addition to the big video!
Oh, and I had seen exactly half of the videos in there, I wonder what that says about me :)

well.. maybe it's just because i've moved out of my flat and at the moment i rely on free wi-fi hotspots to get online.. hence 150mb takes a fair bit of time out of my access opportunities.. so for the present i have to take momentshowing out of my fireant list until i have time to download it.

Nice collection of posts...
Although I was half hoping to see something of mine...
I am sure I wasn't alone in that!

Jay, this was a great collection. I think this type of thing is much more interesting than whatever nonsense is on TV. Videoblogging beats the pants off reruns of Friends or Welcome Back Kotter.

But isn't half the point of videoblogging the fact that it's made for the computer? I mean, everyone's always going about how videoblogs aren't television, but they aren't cinema either. They're not supposed to be seen on the big screen. If they are, then there's very little that's unique about them at all. They're just video, not videoblogs. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into the meaning of the term 'new media'...

Yeah, I'd love to see a quick list of the different blogs, there were some nice ones that I hadn't seen before that I'd want to subscribe to... do you have a page or something just for the archive screenings? Whats the experience of the big screen like?

I really enjoyed this compilation.
I have been meeting with Markus Sandy for some time, and he has been explaining video blogging to me, but it took some time for me to "get it".
I got it with this post; my friend has a media machine connected to his TV, and I have been perusing google and del.icio.us looking for some decent vlog watching ..
Some seem to complain about the size; I enjoy it.
I am able to download the video, and have a variety of different vlogs going on. You give credit to each vlog,
and sample a good number of them, and I can sit here
and watch this for a while.
I would like to see more compiled vlogs, with more attention focused on remixing; since all of this is openly licensed, thats ok, right?
The torrents nowadays are several gigabytes in size, why not the vlogs?

I'm still watching, but had to stop for a minute.
I am LAUGHING SO MUCH roght now with the Yeah... uh... guy that I can't even sit still. My most tremendous applouse to this guy.
NOTE: is it only me, or is this Jay with a mustache?
The eye-tongue clip made me scream man, that was gross!!!!
The funny thing was that my wife heard me screams, so she wanted to see what all the fuzz was about, and when she saw it, she said: that was it?
She didn't even blink.
On a side note, great collage of vlogs!

Just got around to downloading this: great job! (well, I know you didn't put it together... but you kinda did put it together:)
Thanks for including me in there as well-- that was a neat surprise.
Keep on, keeping on, my brother.
